ENES
Perinatal Reiki

There is an energetic part of the experience, too.

Throughout fertility, pregnancy, birth, loss, and postpartum, we spend a lot of time caring for the body.

We gather information. We make decisions. We prepare. We tend to our emotional wellbeing.

And sometimes, there is another part of the experience asking for our attention: our energy.

Reiki is a form of energy work that can offer a space to slow down, ground, reconnect, and bring attention to what may feel unsettled, depleted, or simply in need of care.

I believe deeply in the value of this work.

Reiki has been part of my own life through fertility, pregnancy, loss, postpartum, and motherhood — and I have seen its impact in my work with others, too.

I believe in science. I believe in medicine. And I believe in energy.

For me, these things don't have to compete.

There is room to care for the physical experience, the emotional experience, and the energetic one — sometimes separately, and sometimes side by side.

Body. Mind. Spirit.

Reiki Throughout the Perinatal Experience

Reiki can be part of your care at many different points in the perinatal experience.

You may come to Reiki looking for a sense of calm or grounding. You may want support during a particularly emotional or uncertain season. You may feel disconnected from your body, depleted, restless, or simply aware that you need somewhere to slow down and receive.

Sometimes the intention is physical. Sometimes it’s emotional. Sometimes it’s energetic. Often, it’s a little bit of everything.

Fertility

Fertility can bring an enormous amount of attention to the body — cycles, tests, procedures, medications, waiting, trying again.

Reiki can offer a different way of being with your body during that process: slowing down, grounding, reconnecting, and bringing gentle attention to the womb and reproductive space without asking your body to accomplish anything in return.

Reiki is not about promising a pregnancy. It's about supporting you while you navigate the path toward one.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy can hold excitement and connection alongside fear, uncertainty, physical discomfort, difficulty resting, and a nervous system that sometimes feels like it has forgotten how to be still.

Reiki can offer space for relaxation, grounding, rest, connection with your body and baby, and support when anxiety or uncertainty feels particularly present.

It can also create space to gently explore and release some of the fear or tension you may be carrying as you prepare for birth.

Birth

Reiki can also be used as energetic support while preparing for birth and during labor itself.

It may be used alongside movement, comfort measures, medication, an epidural, induction, or Cesarean birth.

Reiki doesn't require birth to unfold a particular way.

The intention is not to control where birth goes, but to bring calm, grounding, connection, and energetic support into the experience — especially in moments when fear, tension, or the need to hold on can make it difficult to soften into what is happening.

Pregnancy & Infant Loss

Loss can change the relationship you have with your body.

Reiki can offer a gentle way to return attention to the body and womb space while moving through grief — without asking you to make meaning of what happened, move forward before you're ready, or turn loss into something positive.

It can be a space for rest, connection, ritual, release, or simply being with what is there.

I know personally how meaningful it can be to reconnect with your body gently after loss.

Postpartum

After birth, so much attention moves toward the baby while the person who gave birth is moving through an enormous physical, emotional, and energetic transition of their own.

Reiki can create a space to rest, receive, reconnect with your body, and tend to your own energy during postpartum.

You are still part of the experience that deserves care.

What a Reiki Session Looks Like

A Reiki session doesn't require much from you.

We begin with a brief conversation about how you're feeling, what you're navigating, and whether there is anything you would like us to bring particular attention or intention to during the session.

Before we begin, I'll also ask whether you'd like me to share anything I notice or receive during the session — whether that's a sensation, something that comes up around a particular chakra, or what I sometimes call a download. You can choose whether you'd like me to share those things as they come up, talk about them afterward, or simply keep the session quiet.

Then, your job is simply to receive.

You remain fully clothed and make yourself comfortable. During an in-person session, I work with my hands gently placed on or above the body, allowing the Reiki energy to flow where it is needed.

You may notice warmth, tingling, heaviness, lightness, emotion, deep relaxation, or a sense of movement or release. You may fall asleep.

Or you may not notice a particular physical sensation at all.

There is no right way to experience Reiki, and you don't need to do anything to make it work. Your experience may be different from someone else's — and it may even be different from one session to the next.

Distance Reiki

Reiki does not require us to be physically together.

Within the Reiki tradition, energy is understood as something that isn't confined by physical distance. Distance Reiki allows you to receive Reiki wherever you are while I work from my own space.

You can lie down, get comfortable, close your eyes, rest, or even fall asleep.

The distance changes where the session happens. It doesn't change the intention of the work.

Whether we're together in the same room or miles apart, the intention remains the same: to create space for you to slow down, receive, reconnect, and allow attention to go wherever it may be needed.

After the Session

When the session is complete, there is no rush to immediately jump back into your day.

If you've been deeply relaxed or fallen asleep, I'll gently guide you back — inviting you to move your fingers and hands, reconnect with your body, and return to the present at your own pace.

For in-person sessions, I'll offer you some water. We'll check in about how you're feeling and, if you'd like, talk about anything you experienced or anything I noticed during our time together.

If there is something that may be helpful to carry into the rest of your day, I may offer a simple suggestion before we close.

You don't have to understand, interpret, or make meaning out of everything you experienced. Sometimes you can simply receive it.

Not Sure if Reiki Is Right for You?

If you’re curious about Perinatal Reiki, have questions about how a session works, or aren’t sure whether distance or in-person Reiki would be the right fit for you, we can start with a conversation.

Reiki is a complementary practice and is not a replacement for medical or mental health care. It can be used alongside the care and support you already receive.
